Recorded in a smorgasbord of Glasgow locations including a studio in the Hidden Lane and the front room of her tenement flat, Archaeology is Chiara Berardelli’s 3rd full length studio album.
Lockdown led to a new writing collaboration with Biff Smith (of Glasgow band A New International), often in freezing outdoor conditions due to social distancing and their combined inability to put up a gazebo. 
‘I was forced to do things slowly because of having Long Covid’ reflects Chiara.
‘The silver lining has been a sort of slow maturing of the songs. I think we’ve captured the essence of the demos in the final production, something that often gets lost along the way'.

The songs on this album have been inspired by the loss of my dream of one day becoming a mother. It's an invisible loss, hard to put into words, even harder to talk about over dinner. The grief I experienced stretched its' tentacles into all of my relationships and every aspect of day to day life. I stumbled upon Gateway Women, a global friendship group for women coping with involuntary childlessness. It was a lifeline to me.
I would like to dedicate this album to all those who tread the rocky path to 'Somewhere New'.
